Description
This course provides an introduction to the significance of Russell Kirk to our understanding of the conservative tradition and disposition.
As the author of thirty-two books on political theory, the history of ideas, education, cultural criticism, and ghostly fiction, Kirk is remembered as one of our age’s foremost men of letters. Today, his reputation continues as one of the most significant thinkers of the twentieth century and as the figure who defined and developed a living conservative intellectual tradition. Conservatism, Kirk showed, is a disposition to conserve and renew the enduring moral and social order of Western and American civilization.
This course brings expert scholars and teachers to explore the fullness of Russell Kirk’s understanding of conservatism, including its imaginative and humanistic foundations.
This course is invite-only.
